Riverside players Michael Mayer and TJ Warren embrace after thrilling win in NCHSAA Sectional Finals

Friday February 26, 2010

Teams will be reseeded for Regionals.  Regional Semi-Final starts Friday March 5th at 7pm, in Minges Coliseum in Greenville.  The first semi will be followed by the second.  The Regional Final will take place Saturday March 6th at 5pm in Minges Coliseum.

Teams from the Triangle remaining:

CAP-7-Millbrook

PAC-6-Riverside

Sectional Results:

-Wilmington New Hanover 62 – Garner 59 OT

As expected, Garner came off the bus a little sluggish, but righted the ship.  Despite being able to establish themselves inside and seeming to be in control late, the Trojans fall to the scrappy Wildcats.

-Fayetteville Terry Sanford 61 – Knightdale 54

The Knights held a 34-24 advantage at the break, but Terry Sanford but the clamps on Knightdale in the 2nd half and exploded for 37 points.  The Bulldogs could not contain Nicholson who had 18 points, but still played enough defense to move on.

 -Riverside 62 – Enloe 59

Amazing finish to amazing game

-Millbrook 56 – Broughton 48

Millbrook leads end to end, as Broughton cannot keep streak going.  Tyrrel Tate dropped 21 points for the Wildcats and Donzel Hill added 13 points.  Millbrook kept J.R. Owens and Prince Williams below a combined 30 points, which was key in the win.
